Reverend Glencie Rhedrick, M.S., M.DIV, BCC, an ordained Baptist minister, currently serves as an associate minister at First Baptist Church-West, where she leads the Bereavement Ministry and facilitates an engaging weekly adult Bible study class. A graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, Reverend Rhedrick received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with honors, a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management and Development with a concentration in Organizational Behavior from the National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois and she also received her Master of Divinity Degree with an emphasis in Pastoral Care from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student attending the California Institute of Integral Studies in the Department of Women’s Spirituality in San Francisco, California. She currently serves as Chaplain for the following organizations: Rho Psi Omega Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, INC, Queen City Ivy & Pearls Foundation, and NC 12th Congressional District Democratic Party. She is also the convener and founder of “SpeakingintheKeyofWE.” The Theme: “No Longer Silenced; No Longer Invisible” which began with the conversation concerning Black Male Privilege and Patriarchy in the Church. It is a Womanist platform raising the awareness of the biases women of African Ascent encounter in the Church and other segments of society. The show airs on Facebook live on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month. She is mother of one son, Justin Rhedrick, and two beautiful grandchildren Marleigh and Nasir.
