Rev. Chris Furr is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University Divinity School. He was ordained to Christian ministry in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 2006. Rev. Furr served churches in Burntwood, England and Alexandria, VA before being called to serve as Senior Minister at Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Cary in 2014. Chris serves on the Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation Commission as well as the Open and Affirming Team for the Christian Church in NC. He is passionate about preaching, teaching and serving alongside those in Christian community to transform lives and communities. Chris is the author of the book Straight White Male, released in April 2022 by WJK Press.
