Rahab did not bear false witness.

I suppose we disagree on what “fuzzy logic” itself means. You appear to see it as “anything goes.” I see it as “God’s logic trumps our logic, even when we don’t understand God’s logic.”

Narrow path does not equate to narrow mind – it equates more readily to the path that is better traveled.

Mal’s article is basically saying that “rigid” Christians are lazy b/c we’re too simplistic and caught up in making judgment calls on what’s right and wrong. I believe in the Lord’s abundant grace, but I also believe in good & evil. The Lord differentiates between good & evil too! There is a balance between the divine loving grace and divine justice. We must be equally loving, accepting, & welcoming to all seekers and sinners to introduce them to Jesus, but once people commit to Jesus, they must depend on Him to grow in bearing the fruits of the Spirit and putting flesh to death. We’re saved so we can do good works! How can you do that without knowing what’s right (fruits of the Spirit) and what’s wrong (fruits of the flesh) by the Lord’s standard?

Because narrow is the gate and DIFFICULT is the way which leads to life, and there are FEW who find it,”

Brother, we’re humans made in the image of God, not computers. The analogy doesn’t work. The Lord’s path is both difficult & narrow, not difficult & broad.

Straight from her mouth, (Joshua 2:9-11), “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.”

God consistently declare people righteous because of their faith (Genesis 15:6, Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 3:22, Romans 4:5), in spite of their sins. The main purpose of law/torah was to expose the sinfulness & guilt of humanity (Gal 3:19-25).

“Instead of asking whether a particular belief, action, desire, practice or expression is right or wrong. Perhaps we should engage in a much more difficult exercise and ask how a particular belief, action, desire, practice or expression can be part of God’s plan to bring his will on earth.”

They’re not mutually exclusive. Genesis 50:20 (Joseph to his bros), “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” Notice how God STILL inspired Joseph to make the distinction between good & evil conducts. God’s not responsible for people deliberately & freely choosing to do evil, but He will always win in the end in spite of evil.

The “right” things keeps it working, the “wrong” thing messes it up. What if it isn’t working at all, and it isn’t about “right and wrong” but about “what’s next?”

It seems odd that these folks love fuzzy grey nuances to their communities sins, homosexuals, transgender, etc. But no such fuzzy logic applies to their self righteous tirades against things they choose as proper sins to be righteous about. One need only read the hate filled tirades from Franky Schaefer.

I don’t know, maybe when it comes to sin we need to focus the love and furry upon our selves individually, and within the community we accept everyone where they exist whether they are gay, vanity stricken, drunken with ego, addicted, whoremongers, liars, cheats, or whores. And perhaps we are to minister to them with more love and less judgement. By no means an endorsement of where ever they are broken down on the road of life. But like a vehicle on the side of the road, maybe we should be offering a hand and not hindrance.

I’m pretty new to this Christian thing, and I don’t see it as a religion of hate, and I don’t see it as a religion of “I’m ok, your ok” or other Rogerian platitudes.
