And you’ll find that when the flood hits, it’s usually bipartisan. It sweeps right- and left-wingers just the same.

(*) The temperature that makes current human life and civilization possible, as well as the current landscapes and animals and plants they support. If the temperature rises, there’ll still be a planet Earth for sure—it’ll just look very, very different, to say the least. And us humans will have a much harder time in general just surviving.

I am not pushing a leftist agenda or “big government”. Just sharing what I see God’s word teaching us about loving the people he created and tending to the earth that sustains us all. I am not suggesting that the following comment is true of you, but I often find it interesting how folks narrow in on a few thoughts that sound leftist to them and dismiss any Biblical wisdom in the rest of a post like this. All they see is an agenda. The strong reaction and suspicion of a leftist agenda often ruffles the most feathers on those who prefer their rightist agenda is pushed. God does not advocate for either agenda so why such a strong reaction? I hope that a true middle ground could someday be found in this conversation and neither agenda is promoted. Fighting over left/right agendas when it comes to Creation Care is becoming archaic to most, caring is a given to most people these days other than the extremes on each side.

No, I am not a burn-it-now-because-God-is-going-to-burn-it-later guy, and it does make sense to me that man’s activity on this planet probably affects the climate in some way – and probalby not for the best. There are however, many factors at play, so many in fact that I immediately look with suspicion on anyone who claims that greenhouse gasses are the culprit, and/or attempts to sensationalize the issue with their, a-tsuanmi-will-inundate-New-York-City-tomorrow rheteroic. I suspect that they have either bought into the leftest (government needs more control) agenda, or they have a vested interest in promoting that agenda.

So true. When Christians think they can abuse anything, including the planet, their theology is faulty, to say the least.
